FAQs

Here are some answers to questions that we are asked regularly. Simply click on any question to see the relevant answer...

Are you able to treat any foot problem?

Here at Footman, each of our Podiatrists has the relevant degree to call themselves so. As part of this extensive 3 year training we learn how to assess and treat a wide range of foot problems. As with any health professional, we cannot always guarantee that we can get rid of all problems, but will assess and diagnose 99% of problems that walk through our door.

How much will I be charged?

We are completely transparent about what we charge for each treatment in clinic, and take pride in our competitive but fair pricing. Following a discussion with one of our Podiatrists, we will advise on the cost of any proposed treatment.

Do you offer discounts to NHS patients, OAPs or children?

We are very proud of our pricing here at Footman Podiatry, and feel that whilst it is competitive, it also offer excellent value for money. Regardless of age or any other demographic, our pricing remains the same for all patients based purely on the treatment they are receiving.

What is the difference between a Podiatrist and a Chiropodist?

Chiropodists are technically the same thing; any properly registered Podiatrist can refer to themselves as either term. Regardless of title, when looking for foot treatment, we would always recommend ensuring your clinician is registered with the HCPC (Health Care Professionals Council), as this ensures they are properly registered to treat any foot problem.

Can you provide invoices/ receipts for insurance purposes?

Yes, upon request.

Do I need to see my GP first?

No. Being a private Podiatry practice, we require no referrals from GPs for patients to be assessed and treated. We are always happy, however, to liaise with other healthcare professionals (with your consent) should it be appropriate. In the rare cases where we feel NHS treatment is required, we are also able to refer directly into the local NHS Podiatry service, bypassing the need for GP referral.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

We understand that sometimes life gets in the way, and appointments have to be rescheduled. We do, however, request that patients respect that appointment slots are limited, and it is unfair on our clinicians to cancel last minute without justification, and on other patients who may be in need of treatment but cannot get an appointment. We therefore kindly ask that you give us at least 24hours notice to cancel an appointment. We will be more than happy to reschedule you should you wish us to find another available slot. We recommend cancelling directly via phone on 01283 895298, by emailing info@footmanuk.co.uk, or by following the cancelation link on your appointment confirmation email. Any cancellations less than 24hrs from the appointment time, without just cause, will require full payments of the treatment for a wasted slot.

Is there local parking available?

Yes, there is ample free parking in walking distance of the clinic.

Do you take all payment types?

We accept payment in cash, or by card payment. We are unable to accept cheques or bank transfers.
